Growing a Plant (BSM4503 Project)

Today I want share my experience on how I grow my tomato. But, firstly I want to tell you some facts about tomatoes. Tomato is an edible berry or fruit. Scientific name of tomato is Solanum lycospersicum. Tomato is short-lived perennial usually grown as annual plant. Tomato plants typically growing to 1-3 m tall and tomato plants have weak woody stem that usually scrambles over other plants. The fruit is an edible and have brightly colored berry.

There are several conditions that we must know before we grow tomatoes

Temperature	Tomato seeds germinate readily in constant temperatures of 68 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit and it seeds take six to 14 days to germinate.
Sunlight	Tomatoes plant need minimum of 8 hours of continuous sunlight everyday.
Water	For tomato growing, it require continuous and even watering.
Soil	Tomato require temperature of the soil at 60 F or 16°C.

Now, we take a look on how I growing my tomatoes. The things that I must have before I grow my tomatoes are seeds, pot, mixture of soil and water. Below is germination technique that I use to germinate my tomato seeds;

 1. Get the seeds from nursery or garden supply store.

 2. Fill pot with the soil mix.

 3. Sow seeds ¼-inch deep in soil.

During my time growing tomatoes plant, I learn many things. I learn on how to germinate tomato seeds, how to take care tomatoes plant and what conditions to grow tomatoes. It was a great experience for me. Other than that, I also learn what the diseases that attack tomatoes plant are and how to treat that diseases. I think when I learn on how to grow tomatoes plant, I can improve my gardening skills and I think I want to try growing other plants such as garlic, potato and carrot. Honestly, after I grow my tomatoes plant, it make me more interested to know more about tomatoes plant.
